UNDERSTANDING SALVATION AS IT RELATES TO HEALING
“Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.”
Hebrews 7:25
Main Text: Psalm 103:2-4
The Word “saved” here is “Sozo”. Sozo is the Greek word for salvation, yet it’s root meaning goes beyond just the forgiveness of sins. According to Strong’s Concordance, Sozo also carries the idea of being physically healed of diseases and to be delivered from your enemy. In the spiritual sense, that enemy is the devil and his demons. The sinner doesn’t draw near to God through Jesus. The sinner accepts Christ as savior and God gives him a new life — a life above sicknesses and diseases.
Salvation provides deliverance from the dominion of sin in this life (Romans 6:14). Thank God, you don’t have to sin anymore! You have been born of God and you have the power to live a holy life—a life of freedom. Psalm 91 tells you that you will be delivered from pestilence, which includes serious sickness and disease, famine, and other calamities. It says you’ll be protected from sudden death that comes by the weapons of men. It promises you a long, satisfying life and deliverance from every kind of trouble that comes your way.
If you want to experience the fullness of this great salvation Jesus purchased for you, exert consistent effort. Don’t give up, and don’t give in. Stand up for everything salvation has afforded you. Focus on the Lord and His Word. Stay in constant communication with Him through prayer. Experience all that is available to you through Jesus Christ!
Confession
I live above the systems of this world because the greater One lives in me! I’m not subject to the elements of the world, and my life is a testimony of God’s greatness. Divine might is at work in me; my strength is renewed daily, causing me to triumph over sickness and infirmity.
