JESUS IS COMING “SOON”

“Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.”
Revelation 2:16
Main Text: 2 Peter 3:9

The Greek word soon is tachu, translated as soon as or quickly or without unnecessary delay. Throughout the New Testament, tachu is mostly used in the Book of Revelation. What is meant by soon is that the sovereign events of history have been set in motion that will usher in Christ arrival without any unnecessary delay.

It isn’t only the Lord Jesus who speaks of the soon return of the Lord Jesus. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.” The Lord’s return is not only soon that we need to understand, but it is also imminent, meaning it could happen at any moment. Jesus intends the people of God to believe in

His imminent return because He used the language of being ready. Mark 13:33 Jesus wants everyone to live in the awareness that He may return suddenly and all people will have to give account of how they will find them. If you are wondering, is Jesus coming back soon? The answer is a resounding yes, and He will return without unnecessary delay.

Prayer:

I let go of every secret sin that will prevent me from not seeing the Bishop of my soul – Jesus in Jesus name, amen!
