A GOOD THING
“It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Thy name, O Most High.”
Psalm 92:1
Main Text: Main text: Psalms 100
It is imperative we establish that thanksgiving isn’t just a custom to get by, but a good thing! It shows gratitude to the One who owns our soul! More so, thanksgiving is application for more! You want to experience the blessings of God, establish the culture of thanksgiving. Thanksgiving means devotion, sacrifice, praise, or an offering. Thanksgiving is to glorify God as an act of worship, giving thanks for all things as part of God's providence.
Thanksgiving is the surest way up and if we don’t cultivate the habit of saying thank you or showing gratitude, we would never attain all that God has purposed for us or even our fellow man. There are several scriptural examples we can look into of people who had a heart of gratitude and a good number who were ungrateful, and we see how both parties end – one ends in celebration while the other in utter darkness. David had a thanksgiving lifestyle and was grateful to God for everything He did for him. The Bible told us in Psalms 119:164, that David praised God seven times a day for His righteous judgments. Because of David thanksgiving lifestyle, God said to him, “I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague those who hate him.” Whenever thanksgiving rises to God, He is stirred into action to perform a miracle.
Beloved! It is a good thing to give thanks! If you want to succeed in life, give thanks! Do you want to prosper in life? Give thanks! Do you want to beat down your foes? Give God praise! Don’t lose focus! Stay on the lane of thanksgiving for therein lies more in God! Forget your sorrows! Trade it in with the weapon of thanksgiving and watch God work and deliver into your palms a good thing.
Confession:
I am blessed and highly favored, I am a praiser! I praise the Lord all my days! Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not His many benefits! I am blessed of the Lord! I have been young and old, I have never begged for bread, oh Lord your praise shall continually be in my mouth! AMEN!
