WISDOM GIVES LIFE
“For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”
Eccl 7:12
Main Text: MAIN TEXT: ECCL. 2:13
Wisdom gives life to those who possess it—it is essential. The Bible teaches that “wisdom is a defense, and money is a defense” (Ecclesiastes 7:12). This highlights that while scripture is not against wealth or prosperity, it strongly warns against having riches without wisdom. The verse continues, “the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.” To truly thrive in this world, you must have wisdom.
Jesus declared in John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” True wisdom begins with embracing Jesus Christ, for He is the source of life. As Jesus said in Matthew 7:24: “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man.” Wisdom is life, and walking in obedience to Christ’s words is the path to divine wisdom.
The riches and honor that follow wisdom are enduring. Proverbs 8:18 reminds us: “Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.” Money and prosperity are by-products of wisdom. To enjoy the fullness of life and the divine riches that come with following Jesus, prioritize wisdom. To enjoy life, get wisdom—and let it guide your path to abundant living!
Confession:
I declare, I enjoy the abundant life that Jesus has given me, and I choose to walk in wisdom daily! I am blessed by faithful Abraham, and I partake in the covenant blessings. I walk in the wisdom of God, and my life reflects His glory. Hallelujah!
