TRUST HIM
“Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
Proverbs 3:5
Main Text: Main Text: Jeremiah 29:11
Trusting God goes beyond feelings. Rather, it means that you trust in both his character and his promises. You believe that he is good and that he loves you. You believe that he will fulfill all the promises he has made to you in the Bible. Rather than trusting in your own senses and ideas, you believe in God and his word.
Perhaps we now imagine ourselves with a new car, a bigger house, or a better job. Whatever we want out of life starts with a vision in our mind’s eye, but if we don’t share the spiritual vision God has for us, we run into trouble. “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). Meditating on His Word allows us to catch glimpses of what He has planned for us. God wants us to be prosperous, blessed, and happy. We have a choice as to how we think, and there’s no limit on how we can use our God-given imaginations. Believers are in the midst of spiritual warfare; the battle between good and evil focuses on control of our minds. The devil may be crafty, but letting the Spirit of God direct our thoughts gives us the upper hand.
The mind is incredibly powerful, and sometimes we forget just how much our thoughts control our actions. If we’re not careful, we can let our thoughts enslave us. God warns us not to trust in the world’s philosophies, especially when they contradict His Word. “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). The enemy tries to use our imaginations against us; we must be guard against his strategies.
Confession:
I have the mind of Christ! I think on things that are lovely, glorious, wonderful and profitable! I am a mighty success! I am not ordinary! Glory be to God!
