DO NOT BE STINGY WITH GOD’S RESOURCES

“A stingy man is eager to get rich and is unaware that poverty awaits him.”
Prov 28:22
Main Text: Main Text: 1 Tim 6:9-10

When Christians are stingy, they usually never realize it. You can give and still be stingy. There are some who give but with a grudging heart. Also, there are some people who offer things but in their mind they hope the other person says no. As children of God, we mustn’t be lovers of self and lovers of money, we must think about others just like Christ thought about us.

Those who have an exaggerated love of earthly things will be excluded from the kingdom of God (1 Cor. 6:10 & Eph 5:5) when we put all our trust in money more than anything else, this makes us easy targets for the devil to play mind games with in this area. It’s okay to be wealthy, however, we must remember that money is simply a tool we use in blessing others.

God blesses us financially so that we can pass that blessing on to others; this is why believers are to be generous givers. God wants us to treat others the way we would like others to treat us. Using our financial wealth to bless others pleases God.

Confession:

God delights in my prosperity. He gives me power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant upon the earth. I am filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. His will is my prosperity. I honor the Lord with my substance and the first-fruits of my increase. My barns are filled with plenty, and my presses burst forth with new wine.
