SUBMIT TO GOD

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
James 4:7 (KJV)
Main Text: Luke 2:41-52

Jesus was able to live His life in 100 percent obedience to God and win the ultimate victory over Satan because He submitted Himself absolutely to the will of the Father. Satan has run over a lot of Christians today because they have not totally submitted themselves to God.

There are two words which help us understand what submission means. The word “subjection” is translated from the Greek word “hupotasso” which is primarily a military term meaning to rank under; to subject oneself; to obey and to be subject to. The word to submit means to yield oneself to the authority or will of another. Jesus submitted (yielded) Himself to God’s will. He did not question why it was necessary for Him to suffer and die. He did not offer an alternate solution or follow His own will. He submitted Himself to God’s will. He yielded His own will and was subject to the authority of the Father.

Jesus is our ultimate role model, we are to emulate His examples. Apostle Paul said “Follow me as I follow Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1) Jesus’ life was a life of absolute submission to the Fathers desire. As God revealed His will to Him, Jesus submitted and obeyed . It was this powerful ingredient in His life that enabled Him walk in 100 percent obedience to God. Remember in obedience you eat the good of the land, therefore, in order to walk in God’s prosperity package for your life, you must be totally submitted to Him.

Prayer:

Dear Lord thank you for paving the way for me, I am submitted to the plan and will of God for my life in Jesus name. Amen
