HONOR, A GATEWAY TO SUCCESS
“Honor the Lord with your wealth And with the first fruits of all your crops (income);”
Proverbs 3:9 AMP
Main Text: 1 Samuel 24:10
Honor is the key to success! Honor is responsible for your success and make you who you are. When you decide to honor others you love, you respect, you are surrounded by joy in life. The success is all your when you honor the laws for achievement. A certain wise man is quoted saying “Honor carries and is supported by the supernatural power of God. An honorable man may look like a lamb led to the slaughter. He may look like he has just stuck out his chin for someone to hit. He appears this way because he lives by biblical teachings and principles. If we choose to do the honorable thing—if we choose to live by the Word of God—then the honor of God will hold us up. He has promised us that He will honor us when we honor Him.”
David was a man of honour. Samuel the prophet had anointed him, and he knew he was going to be king of Israel. He began to learn about the anointing of God’s Spirit, and about the king’s office. He studied these things and showed himself approved to God on many occasions when he was tested (2 Timothy 2:15). One of such occasions was when King Saul tried to kill him and went after him with three thousand soldiers. The opportunity came for David to attack Saul, but he wouldn’t, because he knew if He did, he wouldn’t only be dishonouring Saul, but the anointing as well, for Saul was anointed of God. Even when he cut just a little piece of King Saul’s garment to prove to him that he got close enough to have harmed him, he repented and asked God to forgive him (1 Samuel 24:5). Here was a man who was hunting him and wanted him dead, yet David chose to honour him because he was a man of honour and he knew where honour came from. He knew the king couldn’t make him great; only God could.
Honoring God with our money is the ultimate way to show respect, and demonstrates our complete trust in Him as our Source. Your growth as a Christian depends on many things, including honoring and submitting to those who have been placed in positions of spiritual authority over you—namely your pastors.
Confession:
I choose to honor my leaders, I choose to honor my Lord with my substance and strength! I am a lover of God, I walk in the precepts and statutes of the Lord my God! I am His and His forever! I am blessed by faithful Abraham in Christ Jesus, amen!

1 Samuel 24:10 “Behold, your eyes have seen today how the Lord had given you into my hand in the cave. Some told me to kill you, but I spared you; I said, ‘I will not reach out my hand against my Lord, for he is the Lord’s anointed.’”
