HELL: A REAL PLACE II

“And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.”
Luke 16:24 (KJV)
Main Text: Main text: Luke 16:23-24

From scripture, we see that hell is a place of torment. Hell is not going to be a place where you sit around and socialize. It’s a place of agony and utter despair. The rich man’s torment was so intense, he believed a drop of water will bring some relief. Hell is a place you don’t want to go nor is it a place you want your loved ones to go.

When a person ends up in hell, one of the first thoughts is your friends and family. You’d think “if only I could go back and warn them. If I could just tell them to accept Jesus and get saved” the rich man made this plea, but he was turned down. Hell is a horrendous place. Luke 16:27-28 (TLB) "Then the rich man said, 'O Father Abraham, then please send him to my father's home- for I have five brothers-to warn them about this place of torment lest they come here when they die.”

If you won’t believe God’s Word, you won’t believe someone who comes back from the dead. I am not trying to scare you into getting saved, it’s a quality decision you have to make. I won’t manipulate you into taking the step that will cause you to miss hell, if you believe there is hell, you’d do anything necessary to avoid it.

Prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart, make me a new person, I let go of my sinful ways, and make the utmost decision to follow you! I love you and I choose to live for you. Thank you Lord.

Luke 16:27-31(TLB) “Then the rich man said, 'O Father Abraham, then please send him to my father's home- for I have five brothers-to warn them about this place of torment lest they come here when they die. But Abraham said, 'The Scriptures have warned them again and again. Your brothers can read them any time they want to. The rich man replied, 'No, Father Abraham, they won't bother to read them. But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will turn from their sins.' "But Abraham said, 'If they won't listen to Moses and the prophets, they won't listen even though someone rises from the dead.”

2 Cor 5:11 (KJV) “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
