YOU ARE THE LIGHT!
“I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles.”
Isaiah 42:6 (KJV?)

What is light? Light is the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible. Light also keeps the earth warm. Light solves mysteries. When Jesus said I am the light of the world, he meant I have come to stimulate your sight to ABBA Father and make Him visible. I have come to solve hard puzzles that’s why in John 2 when there was a challenge his light shone and provided a solution to a difficult but basic issue. Light makes difficult issues look dormant. The speed of light travels faster than sound. Therefore, what this means is that if you can stay with the word of God and choose to be grounded in it, the news that flies in this world wouldn’t deter or make you feel less of yourself.
Matthew 5:14-16 “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Here Jesus calls us the light of the world, He makes us know and understand that we are not in this world by accident or mistake rather we are here for a purpose and nothing is strong enough to dim our light. Jesus was speaking to a crowd of ordinary folks, yet he called them the light of this world! Why? Because God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. (1. Cor 1:27).
The translated word in the Greek “Phos” means “to shine or make manifest the light.” Jesus wants you manifesting His glory. You are not a loser or an alley cat, you are a born again Child of God filled with the Holy Ghost who has the Greater One living in you! You are the light of the world.
As we start the second half of the year 2023 today, your light will not diminish, you will always shine to dispel darkness around you in the name of Jesus. I hope to see you in church tomotrrow, as we celeberate God in our mid-year thanksgiving service. Be there! Invite somebody!
Confession
I am the light of this world, the wisdom of God is at work in me— I have the mind of God, I am blessed in all my affairs, my life points men to Christ Jesus, hallelujah! Glory to God!
