THE ARROW OF DELIVERANCE
“And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the Lord's deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.”
2 Kings 13:17
Main Text: Main text: Psalm 45:5
We live in a world full of wickedness, the scripture thus says, the dark places of the earth is filled with the habitation of cruelty (Psalm 74:20). Therefore, we need the arrow of deliverance to help us win in the battles of life, and one of these weapons is the Word of God! In this story the dying prophet is prophesying hope to the people he had loved and served. Why did the prophet instruct the king to open the window and shoot an arrow eastward? This was an act of declaring war on his enemies. There was an ancient custom to shoot an arrow or cast a spear into the country that an army intended to invade. The prophet was telling this king to declare war on his enemies.
The word of God has been given to us to call forth judgment against the devil and his cohorts! Against those who have sworn to hinder our progress, Gods word is our weapon of mass destruction, we aren’t just believers by cliché, no we are believers because we have proof! Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
It is time to rise up and stand your ground in faith. You must open the eastern window and shoot the arrow of the Lord’s deliverance into the enemy’s territory. “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” Exercise your authority over the schemes and plans of the enemy. Remember the words of Jesus in Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Confession:
I subdue the devil and his demons, I have authority in the name of Jesus and I declare Satan is under my feet! Hallelujah!
