BLOOD BOUGHT
“You were bought with the precious blood of Christ’s death. He was a pure and perfect sacrificial Lamb.”
1 Peter 1:19
Main Text: Main text: Galatians 3:13-15
This word “redeemed” means “to liberate,” or “pay a ransom” to set someone free. In Leviticus 25 in the Old Testament, God talked to Israel about how if a man became so poor that he had to sell himself into slavery, that one of his relatives could “redeem” him or buy him back out of slavery what this simply means is that ordinarily, sin put man into captivity and ABBA in his mercies, bought us from the claws of the devil. You are blood bought, Jesus owns you, you belong to God.
God bought you with the blood of Jesus, so your life is valuable. Naturally speaking we pay special care to items we buy that cost us a fortune, we treat those items with preferential treatment, in the same vein, you are God’s favorite, and He treats you as the apple of his eyes, He paid heavily to bail you from the shackles of the wicked one. You belong to the Lord Jesus Christ.
You need to be asking yourself: What did God create me to be doing here on earth? What are you supposed to be doing with your time here? Are you investing your life in serious, important, eternal things — or are you basically squandering it? Are you living the kind of life that someone who has been bought by the blood of Jesus Christ, ought to be living? You do not own yourself, let your life bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Confession:
Hallelujah! I am blood bought, I am seated with Christ in heavenly places, I am redeemed from sin, hell, and the grave. I am holy, blameless, and acceptable before God. Praise God forevermore.
