WORDS DON'T DIE

"But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment."
Matthew 12:36 (NASB)
Main Text: Main Text: Romans 4:17

The words we speak are very important. Our words either make us or mar us Proverbs 6:2 "You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth." When God wanted to create the universe, he spoke right words and today, we are living proofs of the power of words. Job 6:25 "How forcible are right words!". Hebrew 11:3 "By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible." (CSB) Our words are important to God, this is why we must be careful of how we speak and what we speak. Jesus said "For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks." (Luke 6:45).

Word's don't die, and a classic example is given in scripture. Joshua the son of Nun spoke a word and it became fulfilled 530 years later. At the time He spoke the word, it didn't seem like the word was going to come to pass, however, it did. He was already dead, his words didn't respect the fact that he was dead, all the word knew was to accomplish it's mission at the set time. Joshua 6:26 "At that time Joshua pronounced this solemn oath: "Cursed before the LORD is the one who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho: "At the cost of his firstborn son he will lay its foundations; at the cost of his youngest he will set up its gates." (NIV).  1 Kings 16:34 "In Ahab's time, Hiel of Bethel rebuilt Jericho. He laid its foundations at the cost of his firstborn son Abiram, and he set up its gates at the cost of his youngest son Segub, in accordance with the word of the LORD spoken by Joshua son of Nun." (NIV). Friends, words don't die, our words carry power, either positive words or negative words, they will come to pass, however, by the precious blood of Jesus, every idle word will be nullified.

Proverbs 18:20 "A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled." (NKJV). All things we need for life and godliness has been given to us, however, this gifts don't answer to hard work, they answer to right words. Hard work is good, however, we see from scripture that hard work is limited (Psalm 127:1). We must discipline ourselves to speak right words regardless of the circumstance we are faced with. Man is a speaking Spirit like God, therefore it's important we develop the culture of speaking right words, because through our words, we attain great heights.

Prayer:

I cancel every negative word spoke over my life in Jesus name. Amen
