THE PURPOSE OF MUSIC

“Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.”
Ephesians 5:19
Main Text: Main Text: Isaiah 14:12-15

Music is one of the powerful tools God gave man as a form of worship and weapon against the kingdom of darkness. In the ancient times, the Archangel Lucifer oversaw the minstrels and scriptures describe that he was endowed with all manner of musical instrument. The word Hallelujah isn’t a heavenly language as many presume it to be, its an Hebrew word derived from two words, hall?l which means “To Praise” and Yah which means Jehovah. When we say hallelujah, we are simply saying “praise Jehovah or praise the Lord”.

Music is a powerful tool, God had always intended to brood in music via fellowship, music is used to teach the gospel Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” When words fail us, and the circumstances of our physical lives confine us, music is an outlet for the hopes and dreams, passions and desires, the tension and confusion, and even the transformation taking place within us.

Satan tried to pollute this, but He failed over 200 years ago, it’s important for us believers to know what songs to vibe to as each music contains the spirit of the singer or host.

Prayer:

I choose to praise thee Oh Lord, be thou glorified in my life, hallelujah!
