THE CHURCH – THE BODY OF CHRIST

“The church is Christ's body, the completion of him who himself completes all things everywhere.”
Ephesians 1:23
Main Text: Main text: 1 Corinthians 12:27

The church or temple’s building is not the physically erected structure but you and I. Scripture tells us “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.

It's important to note the day you became a believer; you became the called out one. Jesus said, “On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18 NKJV). The word Jesus used here for “church” is the Greek word ekkl?sia, which means “called-out ones.” As the church of Jesus on the earth, we are the physical representation of Jesus in this world, therefore, it’s important we walk in the precepts Jesus laid down for us.

The Body of Christ is the church does not mean individual church buildings where Christians meet regularly. Rather, believers collectively form the church as the Body of Christ. You are the church of the living God! Praise God forevermore!

Prayer:

Thank you, Lord, for choosing me before the foundation of the earth, I am blessed to be the body of Christ. Amen.
