DEATH HAS BEEN SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY

“When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
1 Corinthians 15:54
Main Text: Main text: Isaiah 25:8

One of the many benefits the death of our Lord Jesus brings to us is victory over death! We swallowed it up in victory! As Christians, we have authority over death and can choose or decide when we die, untimely death isn’t our portion because, we have swallowed up the final enemy up in victory! Apostle Paul was involved in three shipwrecks, he was under the sea an entire night and day but He never died, why? Because He knew it wasn’t his time yet and death was swallowed up in victory!

The scriptures say Let no man trouble me for I bear in my body the marks of Christ (Galatians 6:17) What are the marks of Christ? Love, gentleness, joy, peace, victory over death! It’s impossible for you to have the mark of Christ and walk in its consciousness and die a frail kind of way.

Deacon Stephen, saw Jesus standing at the right hand of power, Jesus was probably waiting for Him to make a decree and take action, but he rather said, unto you oh Lord I commend my spirit, Jesus normally sits but in this case, Jesus stood, why because He knew that one of his choicest servants was about to face death (Acts 7:55), even Apostle Paul, was bitten by a viper snake, but as the people got tired of waiting for His death, they felt he was a god (Acts 28:3). We must walk in the consciousness that death is a defeated foe, otherwise, we will keep on shortchanging ourselves as believers.

Confession:

I have victory over death! I cannot die untimely, Jesus has given me the victory, and as a result, death has been swallowed up in victory! Amen!!
