MEDITATION

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
Joshua 1:8
Main Text: Main Text: Psalms 49:3

The extent to which we succeed in life lies solely on us. It depends on how far we are going to trust God and take Him at His word. Scriptures teach us that if we keep God’s word on our lips, then our success is inevitable! However, we are to meditate on God’s word. The Bible mentions meditation 23 times; 19 of them appear in the Psalms. A man after God’s heart, David, knew the power of meditation, and it’s safe to conclude that this was one of his success secrets.

There are several words in the Bible that translate as a form of meditate, depending on their context, including speak, utter, study, imagine, and muse. Meditation is not sitting with an empty mind or mindlessly repeating a single word or phrase to gain some sort of altered state. If you’ve ever sat with a Scripture and gone over it repeatedly, trying to understand each word, you’ve meditated. If you’ve ever been compelled by a sermon or passage of Scripture to sit and think over a single attribute or testimony of God, you’ve meditated.

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. Your way, O God, is holy. What God is great like our God? (Psalm 77:11-13).

God has great plans for us, however, these plans can only materialize when we stay with Gods word, we are bound for a journey in success boulevard! Make it a habit to confess God’s word for the remaining days of this year and see how far God takes you by your faithfulness to His Word.

Confession:

I hold God at His word; His word is final authority and I choose them for my meditation! I am more than a conqueror.
