LIVING IN PEACE
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.â€
Galatians 5:22-23(HCSB)
Main Text: Galatians 5:22-25
The word peace is derived from the Greek word “Eirene”. It means harmonious relationship, the sense of rest and contentment, and harmonized relationship between God and man accomplished through the gospel. In Romans 12:18 Paul admonishes us “If possible, on your part, live at peace with everyone.” (HCSB) What a great example of our role in the fruit of the Spirit. We are to submit our wills to God’s leading and our actions to God’s word because His word is final authority. The end result of submitting our wills to God’s are up to Him, only God can create peace through the work of the Spirit. At birth, our sinful nature rebels against God’s word, our heart’s desire is to be separate from Him, and if we continue in this rebellious nature until death, He will give us what we want – total separation from God.
Jesus is the prince of peace, God’s method of warfare is not what we expect, instead of a battle, he sent Jesus to die for us. Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born; unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder.
Confession: I am the body of Christ and Satan has no power over me, for I overcome evil with good, I am of God and have overcome Satan. Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world, I fear no evil for He is with me. Glory to God I am blessed.
Prayer: I receive peace uncommon at this time
