INTIMACY WITH GOD

“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”
Jeremiah 33:3
Main Text: Main text: James 4:8

Intimacy with God is available to you, intimacy is what we call the experience of really knowing another person. We frequently use spatial language when describing this experience. An intimate friend is someone we feel very close to; they know us at a deep level. One of the major ways to build intimacy with God is through fellowship. When a man loves a woman, he gets intimate with her by spending quality time with her in the same vein, spending time with the Lord build a deep-knit relationship between you and the Lord.

The word fellowship is derived from the Greek Word koinonia. Koinonia is a Greek word that occurs 20 times in the Bible. Koinonia’s primary meaning is “fellowship, sharing in common, communion.” The first occurrence of koinonia is Acts 2:42, “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” When we spend time with the Lord as the early believers did, we will grow deeper in the Lord and build an intimate relationship with Him.

Intimacy with God is needed in all facets of your life, it will enable you knowing what to do per time and how to indeed grow in all areas of your life, and more importantly, intimacy with God will put money in your pocket! God is calling you to a life of intimacy with Him, do not turn away from that call.

Prayer:

Father in the name of Jesus, I ask that I abide in you and you in me, I choose you above all else and from today I choose to be intimate with you, amen!

Isaiah 65:24 “Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.”

John 15:4-6 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.”
