THE DECEITFULNESS OF RICHES

“And the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.”
Mark 4:19
Main Text: Main text: Romans 12:2

Many may wonder why our Lord Jesus spoke about the deceitfulness of riches, we might want to think being rich is bad, but that’s not what Christ meant. What Jesus meant was simple, He simply meant that many of us spend too much time worrying about wealth and how to get by and it steals away out time of fellowship with the Lord. God desires that we spend ample time with Him, He’s a jealous God (Exodus 34:14) and doesn’t appreciate when we put anything above Him (Matthew 6:24).

No one gets rich by hard work, scripture calls it vain labor (Psalm 127:2) therefore, don’t let your toil for the toil of this world take away the one relationship that can make you! The blessing of the Lord makes rich (Proverbs 10:22). Jesus Christ desires a relationship with you! It’s important you submit to that relationship.

We are required to love God with our entire being! It’s important for you to love Jesus today! Choose the Lord over riches, it’s a decision you’ll never regret.

Prayer:

Father Lord, help me today to be disciplined in my relationship with you, thank you Father!
