FREE FROM THE CURSE
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”
Galatians 3:13 (WEB)
Main Text: 1 Peter 3:9
Curses actually exist and they’re not something to be taken lightly. However, believers don’t need to fear them, because Jesus Christ has freed us from the power of the curses that once were a part of everyday life. The finished works of Jesus redeemed us from danger and made it possible for us to receive all of the blessings with none of the curses.
The moment you made Jesus Christ Lord of your life, you were delivered from the lordship of Satan. You were redeemed from the curse. I didn’t say the curse wasn’t out there anymore. It is! You can see it all around you. But now you have a choice. You have authority over it in the Name of Jesus, so you can stand against it. God’s done everything that love can do. He sent Jesus to redeem you from the curse. The rest is up to you. Now you must appropriate what has already been done for you.
Jesus became sin so that we can become righteous. He died so that we will no more die. He was wounded for our transgression, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed. So, the greatest honor any believer can do to Jesus is to say: “for everything you suffered, I receive the benefit.” It is arrogance to try to reinvent the wheel. He already paid the price. All you need to do is just enjoy Jesus because He is too good
Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for your Word. It’s in my heart and my mouth today! I meditate upon it day and night and thereby make my way prosperous. I cannot be cursed because your Word is my life and your blessing remains my portion, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
