THE NEW TRANSFORMATION

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
Main Text: Main Text: Romans 12:1-2

The day you accepted Christ, you had the exact potentials Jesus had! You transformed the moment you said yes to Jesus, you ceased being a normal man, you became something extra! You became extra ordinary! Jesus didn’t die for you to be an alley cat somewhere on the earth! He died for you to become exactly like him! Now here’s the mystery to be like Christ is to be like God! Psalms 8:5 “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.” The word angel there in the original Hebrew tongue is translated “Elohim” therefore what this means is that God made you a little bit lower than Himself! The New Creature is a little god on the earth!

When Jesus died, you died with Him, when He was buried, you were buried with Him and when He rose, you ascended with Him! Romans 6:4 “We have therefore been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory and power of the Father, we too might walk habitually in newness of life [abandoning our old ways].” In the new birth, the past is buried with Jesus in immersion! And you have been raised into a new life with Christ Jesus!

In our immersions, not only did God arrange for the burial of the old man, but more importantly, He arranged for the resurrection of a totally new creature! This new creature - by the command of the Almighty - is to view himself as already resurrected! The significance of this resurrection cannot be overstressed. A person who views himself as a sinner or failure will continue to act in that way. God’s solution to man’s problems is to give us self-images as those who are beyond the reach of Satan. Only by viewing ourselves in this fashion can we live the life of Christ and not continue in sin. "As a man thinks within himself, so he is."

Confession:

I am a new man! I am a new creature, a new specie of man! I walk in the revelation of God; I am a star to my world! I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, hallelujah! I am blessed!
