THE WISDOM OF GOD

“Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:”
1 Corinthians 1:30 (WEB)
Main Text: 1 Corinthians 2:6-10

All that God deemed essential knowledge for His children is found in His Word—the Bible. Beyond that, all truth is God’s. We acknowledge that true wisdom comes from God and that Jesus Christ is the embodiment of that wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30). To trust in Christ and yield to His Holy Spirit is to walk in wisdom; as Christians, “we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16).

To have knowledge is to have understanding or information about something. To have wisdom is to have the ability to apply knowledge to everyday life. It is in the reading and understanding of God’s Word that we obtain knowledge, and meditating upon that knowledge brings wisdom. The longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119 which is all about gaining understanding and wisdom from God’s Word.

The wisdom of God is so deep and so expansive that He does not and cannot increase in wisdom. The only way He could increase in wisdom is for something to come into God's mind that has not already come out of God's mind. But Romans 11:36 insists that this cannot be done: for from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.

Confession: In the name of Jesus, I declare that I am carefully and wonderfully made in God's image. My physical appearance is a reflection of His glory. I am virtuous, holy, presentable and acceptable in God's sight. I identify with the beautiful image of His Word and will increase from one level of glory to the next. I am blessed, prosperous and in good health. And I believe I receive the manifestation of this confession now!
