THE POWER OF THE HOLY COMMUNION
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
Romans 8:11
Main Text: Luke 22:20
The Holy Communion also known as the Lord’s Supper, represents the greatest expression of God’s love for His people. Two items are used in the Holy Communion — the bread which signifies Jesus’ body that was scourged and broken before and during his crucifixion and the cup which represents His shed blood. When Jesus walked on earth, He was vibrant and His body was full of life and health.
At the cross, the Lord Jesus took all our sicknesses and diseases and put them on Himself so that we can walk in divine health. Remember, Matthew said “Himself took our infirmities and bore our sickness” (Matthew 8:17) Therefore, that sickness or disease in your body is past tense with the Lord. When we partake of the cup, we are declaring that we are forgiven and have been made righteous. Jesus’ blood gives us right standing before God, and we can go boldly into God’s presence (Hebrews 4:16). When we pray, we can be sure that God hears us!
Today, as we partake of the bread, we are declaring that Jesus’ health and divine life flows in our mortal bodies. And when we partake of the cup, we are declaring that we are forgiven and have been made righteous!
Confession
Thank You Lord Jesus for allowing Your body to be broken so that mine might be whole. As I partake, I receive Your resurrection life, health, and strength. By Your grace, I shall be completely strong and healthy all the days of my life. thank You for Your precious blood. Thank You for washing me clean of all my sins. I stand before You completely righteous and forgiven. Your blood has redeemed me from every curse, and today I can freely receive all the blessings that crown the head of the righteous. Amen!

1 Corinthians 11:23-27 “For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.”
