JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOU!

“When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.”
Romans 5:6
Main Text: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Have you ever messed up in a big way and had someone else cover for you or take the punishment? Think of a little child who breaks a vase in a store. Would he/her loving parent demand that their kid stay there until they worked off what was owed or would they willingly pay for the price for the damage done? This is what Jesus’ death does for us. We deserve the punishment but He took it for us. We are the child and He is the loving parent. We broke the vase and He paid the price for it.

Jesus’ death on the cross is known as the atonement. To atone for something is to make amends or to reconcile. Atonement is the way God repairs the broken relationship between humanity and Himself. God sent Jesus born of a virgin to reconcile us back to him. Relationship with man is all God ever wanted, which is why Jesus came to bridge the gap between man and God.

Jesus Christ is the only way to a relationship with God the Father. His death was the only possible way to atone for the sins of the world. He died not because we were worthy of it but because of God’s love and mercy. He gave His life so we can live in freedom and be reconciled to God.

Prayer: Thank You Lord Jesus Christ for dying for me, I do not take it for granted and I commit to spreading Your gospel to the ends of the earth in Jesus name, amen.
