THE POWER OF AMEN

“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”
2 Corinthians 1:20
Main Text: Main text: Romans 11:36

Amen is commonly used after a prayer, creed, or other formal statement. It is spoken to express solemn ratification or agreement. It is used adverbially to mean “certainly,” “it is so,” or “so it be.” The word Amen is a direct translation from Greek into both Hebrew and English. It is used as an extreme affirmation, formal affirmation and not just a flippant response to a Word from the throne of Grace.

Nehemiah 5:13 “…And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.”

If we are going to say Amen to God’s promises, we must mean it. We must understand that God is faithful to do as He said He would do trusting He will fulfill it in perfect timing. Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

When we say a resounding Amen to God’s promises, we acknowledge He alone gets all the glory, whether fulfilled now or in the nearest future, we profess glory to God when we say amen to His words. We give Him all the credit knowing He is omnibenevolent, only He alone can keep His promises and we are wholly incapable of helping Him.

In Him all His promises are Amen, this speaks of the fact that there shall be a fulfillment, or it has already been established. However, this mystery is hidden from those outside of Christ, which is why when they are faced with His promises, they say things contrary to His Word either because of their nature at the time which is full of doubt, inadequacy, or deadness to faith.

Confession:

I am blessed! I walk in all the promises of God for me! I am blessed and prosperous, my ways are favored by the Lord! AMEN!
