THE UNPROFITABLE SERVANT
“And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.â€
Matthew 25:30 (NKJV)
Main Text:
It is important to note that this individual was in the fold. He was a servant not an outsider. He was a believer, however, he was useless and unprofitable to his Lord. He was a liability not an asset. His works didn’t impart the kingdom. He didn’t do anything bad really, his only crime was he brought loss to the kingdom rather than profit.
As believers, we have one mandate, whereas, most of us think that command is for just Pastors or those in the corporate ministry. We seem to forget that when Jesus gave this command there were no pastors or apostles, everyone was a disciple. As disciples of Jesus, this is our mandate.
As children of God accepted in the beloved, one of the ways to yield profit to the Lord is through evangelism. When you don’t go out to share with people the love of Jesus or win souls for God, you are redundant and unprofitable. You might say, I can’t preach, however, can’t you invite to where they can hear the Word? You might say you are too busy, is that an excuse? God is the Lord over the universe attending to billions of people every second – yet He’s not too busy for you.
Don’t get too busy for God! The hard truth is when you don’t share the gospel’s message, you end in outer darkness. Darkness in your spiritual life, marital life, finance, and even eternity! Preach the Word.
Confession: I commit to sharing this love I have received – the love of Jesus, through me, hundred, thousands, and millions will come to know the saving power of Jesus, I am blessed and fruitful in Jesus name!
