A SENSE OF URGENCY

“so proclaim the Message with intensity; keep on your watch. Challenge, warn, and urge your people. Don't ever quit. Just keep it simple.”
2 Timothy 4:2 (MSG)
Main Text: MAIN TEXT: 1 Corinthians 1:17

There is a sense of urgency that must be applied when it comes to the gospel. People die every day, and sadly, many of them enter eternity without Christ. We must act swiftly and with purpose in our approach to sharing the gospel! Jesus has called us to reach the nations, and this mission demands immediate action. The word "urgency" means something of top priority, and that’s exactly how we must treat the gospel. It is more important than your career or any personal ambition. You must be willing to lay down your life for the sake of the gospel, to win the lost at any cost.

We often pursue life goals with urgency—we want to graduate by a certain age, marry by a certain age, and achieve success within a specific timeframe. But just as we apply urgency to these personal matters, we must apply even greater urgency toward the gospel of Jesus. The gospel is urgent! Souls need to be saved without delay. We address our earthly needs with urgency, but how much more should we prioritize the spiritual needs of the lost? The gospel must take top priority in our lives.

A sense of urgency must be applied to the work of God! We need to get serious about our relationship with God, serious about following the leading of the Holy Spirit, and serious about evangelism. The time to act is now—there is no room for complacency when it comes to the mission of saving souls.

Confession

I recognize the importance of every moment and the eternal value of souls. I do not delay in sharing the message of salvation with the lost with passion and dedication, I go out into the harvest field, proclaiming the good news. I am intentional and persistent, knowing that the time is short.  I understand that winning souls is the heartbeat of God, and I align my life with this mission, leaving no opportunity wasted. Every interaction, every conversation, every moment is an opportunity to lead others to Christ, and I seize it with urgency and purpose.
