LIVING IN ABUNDANCE

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”
John 10:10 (AMP)
Main Text:

If you are a Christian, you should be enjoying life. If you’re born again, if you’ve made Jesus Christ your Lord you should be so satisfied, so joyful, so overflowing with life that you should seem almost ridiculously optimistic to the unbelievers around you. You should greet everyday with such confident expectation that it’s going to be filled with the goodness of God that others watch you with awe and ask “How can you be so full of hope when the world is so dark? How can you be so certain your life is blessed?’’

Most times, the message of abundant living has been criticized by a great number of unlearned individuals, however, this does not make the message an error. The scriptures make us understand in Zech 1:17 that it is God’s will for man to prosper and through that prosperity His Kingdom will be spread abroad. Well-being, success, abundance, overflow, these are all definitions of the good life – of prosperity.

Have you ever noticed that the scriptures don’t say God will give you just enough to get by? Instead, the Bible uses words like overflow, plentiful, and abundance. God wants to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can even ask or think. (Eph 3:20) He tells us that His plans for us are success and not failure (Jer 29:11). That’s a prosperous life!

Confession: The Lord came that I may have and enjoy life, and have in abundance (to the full, till it overflows) therefore I decree, I refuse to let the enemy defeat me. I enjoy life abundant, I am prosperous.
