YOU BELONG TO GOD’S FAMILY

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.”
Eph 3:14-15 (NKJV)
Main Text: Main Text: Romans 8:15

In many cultures, marriage signifies a significant change for a woman, as she takes on her husband's surname. This new name carries with it the rights, privileges, and identity that come with being part of her husband's family. Similarly, when we accept Christ and are saved, we gain the legal right to use the name of Jesus. We become part of God's family, with all the rights and privileges that come with it.

Romans 8:15 (ESV) emphasizes this new identity, stating, "For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, 'Abba! Father!'" This adoption into God's family means that we no longer live in fear or bondage, but we can call God our Father with the same intimacy that Jesus did.

Being part of God's family is not just a title; it's a transformative experience. When we made Jesus Lord of our lives, we received the incredible privilege of calling God "Father." This relationship signifies a deep sense of belonging and connection to God and His family, both in heaven and on earth.

Confession:

I belong to the family of God. Because of this, I enjoy the blessings of Abraham in Christ Jesus. I am not an outcast; I belong to God's family!
