DON'T SWEAT IT!

Behold, I am the Lord the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?
Jeremiah 32:27
Main Text:

One thing that is common to every human is the act of worrying which sometimes is inevitable. A lot of things can put one in such a situation either deliberately or unintentionally but how do you draw the line between worrying and not worrying as a Christian? When the Bible says “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? “In Matthew 6:25, God knew exactly what he was talking about.

When you think about it, what can worrying really solve except making you worry much more? Many times, we bother ourselves unnecessarily instead of relying on God for everything. We worry about:

  • What to wear to work
  • When our kids will stop the bad habits
  • When our children will graduate from school
  • How to pay off our debts
  • When we will get our dram partner

The worrying list is endless but I wish we can all reach the point where we can lay all our worries at Jesus' feet. 1 Peter 5:7

Most of the time, the little things that bother us already have solutions. At this point, what God requires of us is to just rely completely and totally on Him.

Before, I used to worry so much about a lot of things…even things that had not yet happened were of more concern to me than the current happenings but I realised over time that there was really no need for that.

If I had an interview tomorrow and I am bothered about it, one thought comes to mind and that is “the interview day will come and go” and that calms me.

So when next you are bothered about something, remember these:

  • God is always with you if you let Him in
  • Tomorrow will come and go

Just like the rain drops effortlessly, let your worries also dissipate effortlessly.

Prayer: I overcome spirit of worry and anxiety in Jesus name
