SHOW ME YOUR COURAGE
Jonathan said … come let’s go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised fellows. Perhaps the LORD will act on our behalf…
1 Samuel 14: 6
Main Text:
Courage is not the absence of fear but the conquest of it. It’s compared to an electric bulb. When the bulb is put on, there is light but looking at the same bulb is the presence of darkness waiting for the light to be off. Everyone who has attained greatness today is a product of courage. To be sincere, I started this daily devotional out of courage because I felt at a time, what will I be writing on the daily basis without repeating myself and I thank God today that my fear was conquered by my courage as I’m working on this edition in our 13th year of consecutive production. You cannot accomplish anything if you lack the courage to start. Fear is a terror to giant, Fear enslaves just as courage is a terror to fear.
Recently, a man was honoured by the House of Representative in Nigeria. His name is … (not very sure). He’s an orphan and physically challenged. He resorted to begging for alms on the street of Lagos. Amazingly, every money he got, he saved to write WAEC exam and NECO. He passed and applied to study Law at the University of Lagos. He got what he wanted and graduated with a good honurs and had since been called to Bar as a solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This man had every reason to continue as a beggar since he was an orphan, could not walk unaided and was very poor, but he was courageous to give no room for fear.
Courage is what you need to break the limits on your destiny. How do you exercise courage? It is by taking action. Nothing moves itself until you make a bold attempt.
Our God has nothing in stock for the fearful, no wonder He said “be bold as a lion”. Don’t give in to fear, be bold, take up courage and soar high.
Prayer: Lord, make me a man of courage
