REASON FOR THE BIBLE
“Before the world began, the Word was there. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.â€
John 1:1(ERV)
Main Text:
The Bible is the book in which God reveals His mind. Sir Walter Scoff a great author said “There is but one book, the Bible. Happy is he whom God has given grace to read, to fear and to obey its content and better had they never been born who read and doubt or read to scorn.” It was written largely by uneducated men, yet it is considered a literary master piece. It has been the most hated of all books. Times and kings and governments have sought to bum and abolish it. Yet God has preserved it for us today and it can be found in almost every home. The Bible was written for several purposes, and one of which is to reveal God to man.
Man died spiritually after the fall, later men began to find means to describe God like Karl Marx called him the invisible hand, other pagan religion called him by one name or the other. But only the Bible gave a true picture of God.
Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth.” (KJV) This statement helps arrive at the following. “In the beginning God” – this denies atheism with the doctrine there is no God. It also denies polytheism with its doctrine that there are many gods. “In the beginning God”- denies agnosticism with its attitude of willful ignorance (that is a deliberate refusal to know God). “In the beginning God created” – denies evolution with its theory that man developed from simpler organisms that existed before. “God created the heaven and the earth” – denies pantheism. and denies materialism.
The Bible was written to reveal the very existence of God to man and build us up to spiritual growth. Acts 20:32
Confession: I declare, I live victoriously, I am created in the image of God - I have the DNA of a winner. I wear the crown of favor, I am the head and never the tail. Glory to God.
