OVERCOMING GREED: A HEART ISSUE
“So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.”
Proverbs 1:19
Main Text: Main Text: 1 Timothy 6:10
Greed extends beyond a desire for money; it encompasses an intense and selfish desire for various things, such as fame, possessions, attention, and more. A greedy person is self-centered and never satisfied, always hungry for more. Greed is a spiritual disease affecting all areas of a person's life, stealing away their joy and well-being.
Greed is responsible for much sorrow, and it is a destructive force that can ruin families and relationships. It is crucial to understand that it is the love of money and not money itself that poses a problem. The love of money interferes with worshiping God and can lead to a constant desire for more, never finding true satisfaction.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I reject greed in my life and choose to walk according to the precepts of Scripture. May my light shine before all men, and may I find contentment in Your presence. In Jesus' name, Amen.
