JUST LISTEN
and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire [a]a still small voice.
1 Kings 19:12
Main Text:
There are times you feel alone; there are also times you feel like the world is against you. I am also sure there are times you feel like God is far from you. It’s not like you don’t believe His word but at times, it may seem so abstract for you to understand. Crying might seem like the easy way out of how you really feel but then what happens after your cry? Thoughts of despair and frustration sets in, leaving you feeling worse than before; at this point what do you do? The ministration of God’s Word produces in you what it talks about. God’s Word has the divine power to do what it says, unlike man’s words. Anyone can say anything, but when it’s the Word of God, it has the power to affect our human spirits. There’s a miracle power about it that works. As you listen to Him and believe the Word, the creative power therein comes into effect and transforms your life. That’s the mystery of faith! Most of the time, children of God dwell so much on what they are going through and neglect the fact that God says “I will never leave you nor forsake you’’(Deut 31:6). How do you expect to hear from God if your mind is clouded with worries, doubts, unbelief and confusion? How do you expect God’s Word to comfort you if you do not take out time to even remember what it says? And even when you remember, how can it take effect in your life and your situation if you don’t let Him in? Whether you choose to believe it or not, God speaks to His children. If only you can take a pause and just listen to His little still voice. When next you feel heartbroken, downcast and on the verge of giving up: • Remember what Gods word says • Meditate on it • Pause….and wait for Him to speak to you Prayer: I will forever be faithful to You O Lord Further Reading: 1 Kings 19:5-12 Read through the Bible: Job 8 & John 13
