TITHING – AN ACT OF FAITH

“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”
2 Corinthians 9:6 (KJV)
Main Text:

Tithing is for the believers today, don’t let anyone tell you different. The Word of God is final authority and it’s important that we let God be true and all men lairs. Rom 3:4 “Let God be true, but every man a liar.” Tithing is not to be done by the works of the law but by faith. 1 Tim 1:8 (AMP) “Now we recognize and know that the Law is good if anyone uses it lawfully [for the purpose for which it was designed].”

One of the reasons God chose Abram, is because He knew He would teach His family the things God taught Him. Gen 18:19 (AMP) “For I have known (chosen, acknowledged) him [as My own], so that he may teach and command his children and the sons of his house after him to keep the way of the Lord and to do what is just and righteous, so that the Lord may bring Abraham what He has promised him.” Abraham taught his family the things God taught Him and we can clearly see it in the life of Jacob who said to God - Gen 28:22 “And of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.” Jacob knew to tithe because his grandfather taught him to.

The tithe acknowledges God as the Sovereign God – the I Am God as a person, eternal, self-sufficient and self-contained. We are stewards over this earth under His Lordship. A steward exercises all the privileges of ownership but is not the owner. God is El Shaddai which means the Breasty One who nourishes and supplies, the God who is all-bountiful and all-sufficient. Give your tithe and trust the all sufficient God to meet your needs.

Confession: I thank you Oh God who meets my every need, I am a tither and I receive all the benefits of tithing in my life and household. I do not fear not having enough because I know that Your Word is true and by faith I obey in giving my tithe and offerings. Praise be to God!
