POWER TO WITNESS

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
Main Text: Main text: John16:13

The power of God was released to the early church primarily for the purpose of being witnesses. Jesus gave us this power to go everywhere and witness about Him. The first purpose of this power is to witness; simply put, the essence of this power is to teach, preach, and heal. This encapsulates witnessing Christ and carrying His banner all over the earth. Jesus gave us power to preach, to teach, and to heal. As believers, we are custodians of the power of God, entrusted with the mission to spread His message and demonstrate His love and authority through our words and actions.

Do not be ashamed of witnessing Christ. The power of God is in you to enable you to win souls for Him. The Greater One is in you, and you have the power to dominate your world. Do not be afraid of the serpent and scorpions; you have the power to dominate them because Jesus has already placed them under your feet. As Luke 10:19 says, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Do not be deceived; you have the power of God within you to dominate the power of the devil. Use this divine authority to boldly proclaim the gospel and bring others into the light of His salvation.

You are called to be a witness, so do not disappoint God. While not everyone is called into pastoral ministry, everyone is called into the ministry of reconciliation. As 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 states, "And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." You have a divine calling to reach the lost sheep and to ensure that you fulfill it. Embrace this calling and actively participate in reconciling others to God.

Confession:

I declare that I have received power through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God empowers me to be a bold and effective witness for Jesus Christ. I am a witness for Christ in my local community, my city, my nation, and to the uttermost parts of the earth. My testimony and my life proclaim the saving power of Jesus.
