HEAVEN CAN BEAR YOU RECORD I
And Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him
Genesis 5:24
Main Text:
Today we want to consider some of the things that happen when heaven can bear you record that God is exalted above everyone and everything else in your life. After Jeremiah had spent time pleading with the Lord to have mercy on His people and not bring the determined evil upon them, the Lord said to him in Jeremiah 15:1, “… Though Moses and Samuel stood before Me, yet My mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of My sight, and let them go forth.” What the Lord was saying here was that even prophets of the caliber of Moses and Samuel could not get Him to change His mind on the issue on ground, so Jeremiah should stop wasting his time. In other words, there are prophets and there are prophets; some occupy a place of greater honor than others. Also Psalm 99:6 says, “Moses and Aaron among His priests, and Samuel among them that call upon His name; they called upon the Lord, and He answered them.” No wonder none of Samuel’s words fell to the ground (1 Samuel 3:19). God honored both the man and every word he spoke. So, one of the things that happens when God recognizes a believer is that He honors him in His sight and that makes that Christian not oordinary like everyone else.
When heaven bears you record, the Lord does for you what David requested for himself in Psalm 35:1, “Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.” He also fought against Korah, Dathan, and Abiram when they spoke against the same Moses (Numbers 16). When heaven recognizes you because you have made none other than God the center of your life, you do not have to bother about your enemies because God becomes their enemy and deals with them as recorded in I Samuel 2:10.
Prayer: My words will not fall before you
