BENEFIT OF THE SCRIPTURE
“I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.â€
Psalm 119:16 (KJV)
Main Text:
There are numerous benefits to gain from scriptures. The Psalmist said “Bless the Lord oh my soul, and forget not His benefits” (Psalm 103:2) in another part the Psalmist repeats this “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits” (Psalm 68:19) In Psalm 116:12 the Psalmist asks “What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?” This proves to us that there’s a lot of gain from the Word of God. The Word is not a liability but an asset, and if put to good use will guarantee your prosperity.
Psalm 119:130 “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” (KJV) The kind of heart you have is a great deciding factor in whether or not you will understand God’s Word and benefit from its study. Certain people have a hardened heart and it prevents them from receiving light in God’s Word. If we will profit from the Word, we need a divine operation of the circumcision of our hearts. See Ezekiel 36:26
For some other people, they have an unstable heart. God is honored when we believe His word without disbelief. His word gains proper understanding when we read and study it. James 1:8 “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” When we approach God’s word with the right attitude, light breaks forth and answers to lives challenges break forth. Our Lord Jesus read the Word and He found God’s blueprint plan for His life (Isaiah 61:1-2 &Luke 4:18-21), when you stay with God’s word, fulfilling destiny becomes easier.
Confession
I declare, God is working all things together for my good, He has a master plan for my life. God is making the crooked places straight. I cherish the Word of God therefore, I am blessed!
