OBEDIENCE GIVES POWER
And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
Luke 22:43
Main Text:
Some people, who by their good works have been given a lasting open door, are you experiencing closed doors for failing to resist the devil? If you let the enemy shut your open doors, don’t expect God to intervene. If you give room to the devil don’t expect God to stop him. If you want your doors to remain open, do something about it. Vehemently resist the devil, stand on God’s Word, confess and continue to please God in all you do. Always remember you have your part to play in keeping the doors opened. For instance, anyone enjoying open doors but stray into a lifestyle of sin will most likely suffer.
Sustained obedience and keeping the faith in Christ are also necessary in maintaining your open doors, even when you lack the strength. If only you can continue to obey the Lord and refuse to go back to the world, the Lord will supply the strength you need to continue, and will keep your doors opened. At His most trying moment, when the Lord could see His ordeal immediately ahead of Him while praying in Gethsemane, He was at crossroad. He was torn in-between obeying the voice of His Father and to retreat. He never prayed so hard. He lost so much strength, was in agony and depressed, yet He still decided to please God. An angel was immediately released to strengthen Him. Obedience releases strength. The weak but holy and obedient church in Philadelphia never lacked the strength to perform because their obedience generated strength (Revelations 3:8). Are you weak? Do you have little strength? Fear not! Just obey the Lord totally and keep on in the faith of Christ and strength will come. There is no man that obeys God and regret doing so.
Prayer: Ask for the Word of God to prevail against your weaknesses
