WHY NOT CHECK THE MIRROR?
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?â€
2 Corinthians 13:5.
Main Text:
You will agree with me that mirror is a unique instrument of dressing as it reveals areas where corrections and perfections are required while dressing up to work and occasions. It also helps to guide us against spotted areas of patches and scars so that we can apply all necessary medications to restore such areas to the normal forms and shape as the case may be. That is right to do anyway!
The Word of the Lord in the same vein is the spiritual mirror of every believer. His word helps to monitor on a daily basis our gauge for perfections and corrections as much as these are required. “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1:25.
You have a daily assignment and exercise to check and reevaluate your stand in the Kingdom of God. You can’t afford to leave any area of your life unchecked. You must take the word of the Lord seriously by checking through it and applying its principles to your life per second. Your success and prosperity are tied to your continuous obedience and willingness to yield to the counsels of the Lord. “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein….” Joshua 1:8.
Do a detailed check on your life in Christ through constant reading and meditation on His words. Are you progressing, stagnant or backsliding? Adjust quickly. You need no man to judge you. Compare your lifestyle with Biblical teachings and instructions and see how obedient and God-loving you are.
Prayer: O Lord, I don’t want to be found wanting at the close of this age.
