WHEN IT APPEARS GOD IS QUIET
“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.â€
Hebrews 10:35
Main Text:
Sometimes you trust God for one good thing or the other. You are very sure of your salvation; you are doing your best to please God and to serve Him faithfully in your area of calling. You pray, fast and are full of faith that God will grant you your heart’s desire which of course is not contrary to His word. You even share your prayer points with some other believers in God and playing your own part towards ensuring that your desire is fulfilled, like studying very hard for an exam you desire to pass. But alas, you are informed that you failed the exam; you discover that you are still not pregnant; that job or business is not given to you; that loved one whose healing you were believing God for eventually dies; that unruly child packs his things and leaves the house for an unknown destination.
When what we get is contrary to what we had hoped, prayed and believed God for, the devil wants us to believe that God has failed us. Our human nature wants to make us feel hurt and betrayed by God. At such a time, there are certain things we must not do. One of such things is asking God ‘why me’?. The devil will want to suggest some ways by which you can feel that “God has failed you”, and there is no amount of questioning that will make stop to be God.
The devil might ssuggest someone to inform you about a certain ‘powerful’ man or woman somewhere who has helped thousands of women to achieve; he might suggest that you go ahead and fulfill some unholy conditions to get the job/business you want; he might tell you about some ‘smart’ ways to bet rich. Beloved, God may only appear to be quiet now, hold on. Please do not go down to Egypt for help. Isaiah 31: 1 says “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help…”
Prayer: I will keep trusting You
