FOLLOW CHRIST NOT WEALTH
“A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.”
Eccl 6:2
Main Text: Main Text: Revelations 5:12
Many believers fall into the grave mistake of chasing after wealth and the fleeting pleasures of this world, forgetting that these things are temporary and pass away. True prosperity is not rooted in man’s effort but is found in Christ alone. While God has indeed given man the ability to gain wealth, He has not given man the power to enjoy the fruit of his labor apart from Him. This is why, without God, the riches of the world can quickly become a source of sorrow, and the Bible refers to the labor of man without God as an "evil disease.”
True wealth resides in Christ, and in His sacrifice lies the seven redemptive riches promised to believers. Revelation 5:12 “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” These riches are the inheritance of those who follow Christ faithfully.
The key to accessing these divine treasures is to follow Christ wholeheartedly and to serve Him faithfully. As you pursue Christ and His kingdom, the "side effects" of this faithful followership—riches, honor, power, wisdom, strength, glory, and blessings—will naturally accompany you. Matthew 6:33 reinforces this principle: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” It is essential to shift our focus from earthly riches to eternal riches. The glories of this world are nothing compared to the wealth found in Christ. Winning souls for the kingdom is one of the greatest ways to honor God, and it opens the door for Him to beautify your life in unimaginable ways.
Follow Christ, for He is infinitely more valuable than the fleeting and rubbish glories of this world. Embrace Him, serve Him, and walk in the fullness of the riches He has secured for you through His sacrifice. True prosperity begins and ends in Him!
Confession:
I declare, I pursue after Christ with all my heart, gaining Him above all the fleeting riches of this world. My life is rooted in God, and I am open to His abundant blessings. I walk in the true riches and prosperity found in Jesus Christ, thriving in His grace and living for His glory. I am blessed beyond measure, and my joy is complete in Him. Hallelujah!

Phil 3:7-11 “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.”
2 Cor 4:3-6 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
