PRAISING GOD DEMANDS YOUR DEVOTION
“… You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israelâ€
Psalm 22: 3
Main Text:
David was a man of many experiences. He had been involved in warfare, physical and spiritual; he had seen many battles and discouragements. Despite all these, he concluded by saying that God is enthroned in the praises of His people. It takes a devoted heart to praise God, like somebody sang;
Take up my cross daily follow You
I’m not to ashamed to shout of my love for you my Lord
Straight from my heart I worship You
You are the reason for life simply devoted to You…
In an account where the Israelites were transporting the Ark of God, it was supposed to be taken to a base so they could access God by the presence of the Ark. So, from the days of Abraham, without blood, no one could lead an assembly before God infact, the high priest would have to go through several sanctification processes. But sometimes, the Ark was not in view and David needed to access God. There was something he did – he tried praises and it worked. No wonder he danced and praised at a time to an extent that his wife said he behaved like a fool. In response, he rather said he would not mind doing more.
Beloved, something that attracts God’s attention is praises. It does not have to take a shout or a smooth voice to give such praise Ps. 100: 4 says “enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise”. Before the time David discovered this, only the blood was the access into God’s gates and courts. But King David discovered a new access code, praise.
Beloved, the praise still works today. You can access the gates of breakthrough today. Just make your heart right and get engaged in the praise of the Almighty God.
Prayer: Your name be praised, Most High, from the rising of the sun to its going down.
