THE COVENANT OF BLOOD

For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
Matthew 26:28 (NKJV)
Main Text:

If a believer wants to know more about God, it is paramount that he/she understands covenant operations, for our God is a covenant making and keeping God. Certain scholars say, understanding covenant is the secret to the Bible. Without understanding covenant, the Bible would just be another religious book and the believer will remain weak even though all of God's resources are available to him.

A covenant is a binding agreement or obligation between two persons, tribes or parties. It is the union of two parties to become and act as one. The strongest and most binding of covenant is the blood covenant. The word covenant in Hebrew translates to "cut until blood flows". Each time you think of the word covenant, it is important you think of blood. The blood covenant between God and man began when God shed the blood of an innocent animal to cover Adam. Ever since, it became a culture in ever civilization to shed blood until God sent the perfect Lamb to die for the world. John 1:29, "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" (NLT)

However, God cuts the new covenant with mankind so that man will have the best relationship with Him i.e. Fellowship. The strength and reality of a covenant would promise and ensure these things and anything else the partners required. This was the foundation for faithfulness, loyalty and dependability.

The reason why there are believers all over the world today is because of Jesus.

Galatians 3:13-14, "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”) that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Happy Good Friday!

Prayer: I am redeemed, I am a partaker of the New covenant. I enjoy peace, salvation, joy, deliverance. I am protected by the blood
