THE URGENCY TO EVANGELIZE
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
Mark 16:15-18
Main Text: MAIN TEXT: 2 Timothy 4:5
The urgency of evangelism cannot be overstated. Every person, regardless of their background or beliefs, needs to hear the message of salvation. The Bible teaches that without Christ, people are lost in their sins, separated from God, and facing eternal consequences. The love of Christ compels us to reach out to others with this message of hope. “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” — Romans 10:13-14”
There is an undeniable urgency to save souls. Men are perishing, and we must ensure that no one goes to hell under our watch. Jesus Himself emphasized the importance of sharing the gospel throughout His ministry. In John 4:35, He calls us to recognize this urgency: “Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.” The harvest is ready—people are prepared to receive the gospel, and it is our responsibility to take action. We must not delay, for the time is now. Every soul is precious to God, and we are called to bring them into the kingdom, ensuring that none are lost.
Evangelism is not simply about human effort or persuasive arguments; it is a spiritual work that depends on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts’ people of sin (John 16:8), draws them to Christ, and empowers believers to share the gospel with boldness and clarity.
Confession:
I declare that I am blessed and highly favored. I dedicate myself to evangelism, and in doing so, I walk in wisdom, winning souls for the Kingdom of God. My life reflects the heart of the Father as I fulfill my purpose in spreading the gospel. I am wise in reaching the lost, and I am empowered by the Holy Spirit in all my efforts. Amen!
