YOU ARE THE APPLE OF GOD’S EYE
“Keep me as the apple of your eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings,” ??????????
Psalm 17:8 (WEB)????????
Main Text: Zechariah 2:8-10
The phrase the apple of your eyes in Hebrew means “the little man of the eye.” When you look into someone’s eyes, you can see yourself reflected in their pupil. Now, what does this mean? It means that God will keep an eye on him and protect him. Why? Because David is precious to Him.
The apple of ones eye is it’s center. The Prophet Zechariah is declaring in these verses that if you come against Israel and her people, it’s as though you have thrust your finger in the pupil of God’s eye. You have not only offended the Almighty, you have also received His full attention.
This is a phrase that expresses particular affection. God uses it to describe how special His people were to Him. The day you accepted Jesus into your life, you became the apple of His eyes. You are precious to God!
Confession
I am made perfectly in the image of Christ. You have known me since you formed me in my mother’s womb and I am the apple of His eyes.
