POVERTY HAS BEEN DEFEATED 1

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.
2 Corinthians 8:9 (ESV)
Main Text:

Poverty stinks, it humiliates. It makes her victims vulnerable to the ills of this world. One of the most destructive social vices is poverty. Living in abundance makes healthy, it makes strong, it makes productive, however, it takes good money to live in abundance. David speaking in Psalm 103:5 "He has satisfied my mouth with good things so that my youth is renewed like the Eagles". If we are being honest with ourselves, no one truly enjoys lack and want. All over the world, men wish each other long life and prosperity. No one wants to be wished long life and poverty. Poverty has no friend, no brother, no parent. Poverty is an orphan and no one wants to be identified with her. Scripture defines poverty has a curse.

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]." John 10:10  (AMP)

One of the primary reasons God sent Jesus to the cross was to give us easy access to the abundant life here on earth regardless of the economic state. He gave us the ability to overcome the hurdle of poverty.

"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NLT)

The world today lives in the midst of such an economic recession that has never been witnessed by any other generation.

Confession: In the name of Jesus, I have authority over the kingdom of darkness. I have authority over the works of the devil. Poverty is the work of the devil, therefore, I have authority over poverty and I live in abundance.

Prayer: I destroy every trace and iota of poverty in my life
