BUILD UP YOURSELF
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Jude 1:20 KJV
Main Text:
Consistent sins are clear marks of immaturity in the things of the spirit. If you don’t abstain from such evil acts, you may be growing old in age but you won’t make any tangible progress before God and man. God expects you at all times to take root downwards and begin to grow up in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember the Bible says, ‘Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all Galatians 4:1 KJV.
Maturity speaks of wisdom. You can easily be identified as a mere church goer or true disciple of Christ through your state in faith and in the things of God. Forget about when you raised up your hand for salvation. The race is more than just raising up of hands, it includes raising your heart towards God with every readiness to learn and grow unto sonship at the feet of Christ. You need to grow up in spiritual shape and unto glory. Your light should be shinning brighter and brighter by the day. It shouldn’t be said after two years or more in salvation that you are complaining of not being asked after in church. The Bible says in Hebrews 6:1, Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God. Grow up. Your leaders should be proud seeing you around and not worrying over your attitudes and excessive excuses. Jesus is not coming for a complaining church. He’s coming for a glorious church. Be prayerful. Don’t allow your life to be wasted on social media. Wake up to pray and wait on the Lord. Be a strong rooted Christian and one that’s set for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Prayer: I will not frustrate the grace to grow in my spirit man.
