THE DANGER OF STRIVE

“And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?”
1 Corinthians 3:1-3 (NKJV)
Main Text:

Strive, division and envy had reduced the early Corinthian church in walking in the power of God and the blessedness of Christ. They became a natural or carnal church as they were before they accepted the gospel of Jesus. It had so stunted their spiritual growth that they couldn’t understand the teachings of the Apostle Paul.

Sadly, Satan has the same spirit of division among us today, he knows that a house divided against itself will fall. He knows that if we all come together in the unity of the faith which is the will of God, we will arrive at the full stature of Christ Jesus. So He sends out a spirit of division to operate in our personal lives, church lives, social lives and our family lives. His goal is the same, bring envy, strife, and division.

However, blessed be God who dwells within us. We don’t have to yield to that spirit. When we choose to walk in the love of God, we resist the devil and his cohorts. Don’t let Satan stop your spiritual growth by using these pointers, walk in love! You have the victory.

Prayer

Father in the name of Jesus, I come against the spirit of envy, strife and division. I live at peace with everyone and I love people with the love of Jesus.
